Most people I know that have a work at home job are doing it mostly as a supplement to their full time job. Usually you need a skill or offer a service that most people just do not have. For example, I am an internet engineer and while I am not an expert per se on computers such as a service repairman might be, I can fix many things saving money for those who seek me out.

Starting a home based business can be very exciting when you are first beginning. For most people it is a hope and feeling that you will be successful in supplementing your income, maybe even replacing it. There is much more though in starting a home based business opportunity.
