Home Based Business - Relationship Marketing
In today’s fast paced society, there seems to be an ever increasing quest and thirst for getting access to information at the speed of light. Oh sure the internet has revolutionized that process and I for one am very happy to have this sort of access. I use the internet on a daily basis to build my residual income and create a solid home based business. However, it seems while we are in such a rush to develop the next greatest technology to utilize, we have moved away from one key area that is still entrenched in most people. People don’t like to be sold. Rather people buy who we are before they buy what we have to offer. It’s called relationship marketing and it’s so old, that it’s new again. Let me explain what I mean by relationship marketing by the following example. In mlm we hear about the success stories of some people coming into a company and within 6 months they are making a substantial residual income in a home based business. It got me thinking when I was talking to my good friend and coach Cameron Howard about those instant success stories that we periodically hear about. You need to understand that the main reason someone is so successful right away is because of relationship marketing. Those individuals over many years usually have established credibility and respect with hundreds or sometimes thousands of people. So when they decide to move to another company, they have instant credibility and are able to develop a residual income in a home based business. Success leaves clues and you need to really understand this important distinction because this is the only and ethical way to truly build an on line internet business and create a solid residual income for many years. Gone are the days when you could put some cheap ad or internet site together and all of a sudden your phone is ringing off the hook with orders. I’m not sure that ever really happened. My point is that if you approach your home based business with a get rich quick attitude, you will not last. It just doesn’t work that way and it is certainly not a way I would ever coach anyone. Maybe when the internet was first introduced to the masses, people were intrigued by the kinds of information one could have at their fingertips. However, as the internet matures, so too are people getting more educated and sophisticated. People want and crave information on everything today, including how to create a residual income and build a successful home based business. This is not rocket science and much of it when you break it down is very straight forward and just requires some time to invest in understanding how things work. I believe part of the problem with many network marketers, they hit you between the eyes with their product/opportunity within minutes, and sometimes seconds, of first contact. This proves they are not thinking about you, but about their needs. Part of the problem is they don’t have a coach to guide them through the process. No respect and they certainly do not understand about relationship marketing and how it can build a residual income and solidify their home based business. People become our customers and partners because they respect us. It really is that simple and it’s the way the internet is evolving to conduct business online. Respect takes time to build, time being the key word. Our own children know we love them by the time we spend with them not by our words. The time we give others proves our respect. Becoming successful in network marketing is simply about creating a circle of influence or relationships of people that respect you. Over a period of time, you can develop a very stable passive residual income and have a solid home based business. I could not recall or attempt too how many times my good friend and coach would say that we invest time in people. We must invest time into that before a residual income is realized. Impatiently going through huge numbers of people to find the small percentage that are ready right now can be a very demanding and stressful job. By believing in what we are doing, knowing that if we plant enough seeds of respect we will reap a wonderful harvest one day, we build a solid circle of influence and that is our greatest asset in network marketing or any business. Stay focused, build relationships with people, share relevant information with people and over time, you too can have a residual income and a comfortable home based business. Do you want to understand the road to your future? Don’t we all kind of need a clear vision of what could be? Isn’t it human nature? Everyone here in our home based business team wants/needs a secure road to run on and confidence that they can achieve their goals. It only makes sense! Let me try to share what can be to building a successful home based business. First, understand that those of you that comprehend this are kind of like pioneers, you will lead others by blazing a trail with our home based business team. That takes more courage than average to building a successful residual income. During the past 7 plus years, many businesses have been built online. Massive e-mail campaigns, auto-responders etc. We have all seen the hype etc. Those days are crashing and burning all around us. This is not what I am talking about. Imagine a meeting being held in your town with 10,000 success minded, many in network marketing, people and everyone are coming with a billboard on their back that shows their bio. Would you like to attend and meet people at that meeting? If not, hello. Now imagine the meeting has 100,000 plus, because that’s coming!! That’s exactly what you have at sites like the My Space and Facebook. Now, for whatever reasons, most people are still not accomplishing their objectives in our industry in terms of building a long term residual income with their home based business. One of the major reasons is a lack of communication and proper training. I have already seen many people here at places like My Space change companies etc. Why not? If they don’t see some success for their efforts, why wouldn’t they continue banging their head against the wall to try and build their freedom residual income? Distributors no longer have to mail newsletters and phone people everyday to ensure contact and information flow. Also, one doesn’t have to tour like a rock star to do trainings. In 1997, my good friend Cameron Howard spent 50K touring. Think about it. So how does this affect you and help you make a residual income online? Well anyone reading this is connected and plugged in. (Communication and training). You are among millions at my space and among many more millions on the internet. Most success minded people are online today, most Network Marketers too if they want to build a successful home based business. If we focus on getting on the phone with 1 quality person everyday, like Cameron and I do on a weekly basis for 50 weeks a year, we will have well over 250 new friends with a success mindset, most of whom already believe in Network marketing and want to develop a long term residual income. Ponder that for a moment. Think about the significance of 250 new friends that know and respect you. For example, my friend Cameron spoke to Kathy. She is very busy with several wonderful projects in her home based business. Kathy was “burned out” of network marketing, swearing never again - sound familiar? However, as she uses essential oils with her clients she recently joined Young Living so she could purchase quality oils for less. If Kathy was going to build a home based business it would be with YL. Now, hypothetically here, if for some reason YL didn’t live up to what Kathy was looking for or something changed in the company, doesn’t it stand to reason that Kathy would at least examine our company and home based business team. Of course she would! I’m not saying it would be the right one for her or that she would join us based upon one conversation, I’m only saying that we would be one that she would look at. Now multiply that scenario by 250. Then add another 250 as a solid residual income takes time. 500 people that I have spoken with over the phone, have seen my bio and read a few of my articles. Of those 500 people, how many will be looking to be more successful and willing to look at another opportunity? By focusing on meeting one person a day and adding value for 24 months I would have to be pretty poor at what I do to only personally recruit 25. Anybody who personally recruits 25 into our program and plugs them into our support system and team calls etc will earn a wonderful income, enough to work from home on. Anybody can build their own home based business this way, from any company. Talk to 1 quality person each day. Build your list of real friends, add value in every conversation by BEing a friend. BE a blessing and BE blessed. Every morning when you wake up, get excited about BEing a friend to at least 1 person. Pick people with whom you feel you have something in common. Wow, that sounds like the same old methods of MLM. Are there better alternatives to the all the stress of building a home based business? Home Based Business - Built on Solid Ground There are so many ways doubt and fear can creep in and steal our dream and confidence in developing a successful home based business. When we read about someone else’s meteoric rise to the top levels in a company in 7 days or whatever, it can make us wonder why not us. May I suggest something to building a successful home based business? Why should we care? We don’t know how much personal growth those folks went through before they started their home based business. We have no idea of how everything fell in place for them in building their residual income. Instead of making us feel less confidence, wouldn’t it be empowering to for us to BE encouraged to believe that perhaps the next meteor might be our personal enrollee? The concept is about building on solid ground to have a success home based business. Build it right one time to have a long term residual income. We believe in respecting others and friends helping friends. We leave our egos at the door of the Home Based Business Team when we come in. Everyone is always a leader-in-training as true leadership is always about growing every day anyhow. Everyone has their unique gifts that add to the team, all for one and one for all. Our home based business team will not be attractive to everybody; it wasn’t designed to be. It will be attractive to the right people wanting a long term and successful home based business. That’s our job in a way, to share with people in a way that helps them get a clear picture of who we are and what we do in terms of helping that other person develop a residual income. Like Frank says: “Just share the truth because the truth is good enough.” This way we will attract the right people and quality people are the solid ground we need. It really comes down to building a base of contacts filled with nice people that are all at various stages of looking at what we have and gaining respect for who we are by the way we treat them. Since anybody with the “Right Stuff” can succeed in a home based business, it’s not about the speed of which we build it. Would you want to purchase a home made of poor quality material thrown up very quickly or would you prefer one built with quality material on a solid foundation and built properly in having a successful residual income? Even if it took a whole year to develop that contact base properly before one person even enrolled, would it be worth it? In the coming year my intentions are to totally revamp and upgrade my contact base and share my story with some great people. Things take time to be done right in having a long term sustainable home based business. Make it a great day! Home Based Business 33 How to choose a home based business from the hundreds and more that are available? There are a number of factors to consider when choosing a home based business for yourself. These factors include: 1. Are the operators of the business honest and ethical? This is important and can be difficult to determine but the past so often determines the future. Try to check to see if they have been involved with any other home based business previous, that suggests their honesty and ethical behaviour may be in doubt. You can Google their name plus the home based business name, check such sites as scam.com, read as much about the person or persons as you can to get a feel for them. 2. You must be able to contact the operators by phone or Skype. Email is subject to abuse so not as important a means of communication as voice. Honest operators are happy to talk to you, if you yourself are genuine about getting involved with their business as a home based business independent business owner. 3. Is the business product real and not just software that says it can do more than anything else that has been developed for the home based business industry. 4. Does the home based business opportunity promise thousands and thousands for little or no work. They will build your down line etc etc. If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is. Avoid these type of offers. 5. How long has the home based business opportunity been in existence? Is it a start up, ground floor, get in first, the next Google? Most companies fail in the first five years. Look for a business that has more than five years minimum. If it is a start up get rich quick ground floor operation then give it a big fat miss. Save your money for something more stable, more depth and a greater probability for you to become successful. Look for its good business a slow get rich home based business that may in fact take you more than two or three years to achieve. 30, 60, or 90 days and you will be rich, pull the other leg! 6. Look for a home based business that can be easily duplicable. MLM businesses preach duplication but the reality is duplication is not possible with a MLM business, because no one can do what you will do. MLM businesses teach all new distributors to buy leads to build their home based business. Buying leads has a 97% fail rate. Not a good business option when choosing a business to join. Those are just six factors to consider when looking to choose a good home based business to promote. There are other factors to think about. Common sense applied will nearly always save you money. Think before you leap. Home Based Business I have chatted with various people over the years and I noticed patterns in terms of similar obstacles to overcome in developing a residual income in a home based business. Previously, a group of us had connected on line at a forum called Our Network Home. It has not existed for a few years now and too bad as it was a great place to invest a few minutes each day, learn and grow, read some posts and comment back. However, for some of us that have been around the forum for a while, we had a love/dislike relationship with it as some would question the direction the forum was taking and why do we need all this personal growth stuff. For example, at times I would grow impatient and I just wanted my coach to cut to the chase and tell me how to build a home based business. Why would anybody dislike coming to a forum and reading material that helped us ask ourselves questions about leadership, relationships, partnerships etc? The product testimonies were great and so were the celebrations of success of building a residual income in a home based business. Sometimes we shared bad news like in our families. What was it that pushed those buttons during those periods? For years I read numerous self-help materials. I thought I understood the theory. However, I truly didn’t think I needed it. I knew better. In fact I can remember many times thinking I could have delivered the material more effectively myself. I had a lot to learn back then and still do. Everyday is a journey, not a destination in building my home based business. I didn’t want to hear about all the personal growth I needed to do as I was just focused on getting the job done of creating a residual income in a home based business. I believe everybody can relate. Just show me how and get out of my way. You know what though, I know many people in this world that have accumulated great wealth but the people that know them don’t respect them. I know several people like that in this very industry. I once knew a man that made 20K every month and those that got to know him really didn’t even like to be around him and certainly had no respect for him. That was at the beginning of my career and it confused me as to what was really important and why for building a home based business. He had what I wanted, success, but in reality he was quite poor. A team needs everybody, new and old, successful and not yet successful. It doesn’t matter that I or others didn’t have a $10,000 a month residual income in a home based business. Everyone is inter-dependent upon each other. Everybody must learn this important lesson and will one way or the other. We ALL need each other! Leaders can be well remunerated in ABC Company, however, who still want to become leaders. This is where our self-image can hit a wall and you know it. Some folks cannot yet see themselves as that leader on stage. This takes time for some people. Others want it so bad and are willing to work for it. But, are you willing to invest the time and dedication to be one? Real leaders, those that are happy and successful at creating a healthy residual income in their home based business, have earned many people’s respect. That’s the Circle of Influence deal we are all working on. It really hurts to work through all those names and get rejected doesn’t it? Let’s ask ourselves a question shall we? How long does it take us to give our own respect to someone? 1 hour, 3 hours, 10? What is it that makes us respect another person? Is it really just a question of how much they earn? Real leadership is given, never taken and one achieves it through failing often enough to learn the lessons. Real leadership, like respect, is earned. Those that have obtained a certain measure of a residual income are not always one to be admired or respected. So what is the answer to all of this? Habits!!! Success habits come hard - don’t they? How many leads do we have to call before it becomes second nature and we are good at? How many friends and family have to turn us down until our resolve is so strong that we can exclaim Next! How many times do we have to do that self-examination of our beliefs before we change those that are not working? How long does it take us to really learn that it doesn’t hurt us to let another help us be better? Successful habits can build a long term sustainable residual income and a solid home based business. When we do the things that we don’t feel like doing, such as writing an article tonight or are afraid of doing and just do them anyhow we develop our character and leadership abilities. We invest time in people as we are in the people business, if we truly want a successful home based business. Mediocre people don’t. Leaders do. Leaders fail a whole lot on their path to earning respect and becoming successful. True leaders that deserve respect have failed so much that they have learned about humility. They have learned how to be inter-dependent on others at helping each other in their respective home based business. Ever met an arrogant leader? In reality no, because real leaders are not arrogant. They have learned how to be servants, one day at a time, by habit. During my journey for the past 10 years in this home based business industry, I have met many leaders. One man that stands out is Tom Prendergast - CEO - Veretekk. He doesn't take the easy road, but takes the path that is the right way to go, no matter how hard. What Tom shared several months ago, opened up my mind to why so many MLM people had failed because they followed a plan of duplication. Tired of the MLM hype and lies, then learn about buying customers. Home Based Business Today there are numerous home based business opportunities available. Many people dream of being their own boss so they can spend more time enjoying their family and children. The answer may be a home based business. home based business opportunities can help to restore balance between work and home life making it possible for Moms and Dads to successfully balance work and family. There are many home based business opportunities available and often when some one is searching for the right one it becomes over whelming. No matter how difficult it may seem sorting through the many opportunities has to be done in order to find those that are legitimate. The goal will be to find the opportunities that are first of all legitimate and also that show proof they can produce the income you desire. The first thing many people will notice is the many choices of types of a home based business available. The first choice will be the type of work you want to do. There are many networking Marketing opportunities available as well as Affiliate marketing opportunities. You could also choose home based business jobs where employers hire you to work out of your home as an employee. Your Own Home Based business: The choices are almost limitless and all depend on your personal interest. Many people start an eBay Business. While it is highly competitive, as a home based business money can be made from doing so. You can search the Internet and find drop shippers who allow you to sell their products under your own label and will then ship to your customers using a return label with your company name on it. Or, you can start an eBay business where you buy from Flea markets and Garage sales and then add a markup and list the items on eBay for sale. One last way and one I did at one time is to buy return merchandise and resale it on eBay and at Flea markets on the weekends. A simple net search for return merchandise/salvage merchandise will give you plenty of buying options. If you use a drop shipper or buy locally for resale may need to keep a certain amount of items in stock. Adequate room to both stock your merchandise and in the case of buying used items you’ll need room to repair and clean them will be necessary. Remember to have an area available for packing and shipping. The more merchandise you can keep in stock the quicker your turn around will be. You also will want to stock up on items you can buy at a savings if you purchase in bulk. Having a home based business sales can be profitable if it is what you desire and can be fun also.
